Tremsbüttel, Schleswig-Holstein. Big loss for the gastronomy in Stormarn district: The well-known Hotel Schloss Tremsbüttel will probably close its doors. No longer available on various hotel portals. Plans to sell the manor house?

The manor house in the Stormarn district was a well-known address for events and overnight stays and was always well visited before the corona pandemic broke out. The extent to which the measures to contain the corona pandemic are now jointly responsible for the closure of the traditional house remains open. The employees who mainly live in the region have already been dismissed. Tremsbüttel was also a popular wedding venue. Up to 80 celebrations were held annually. The wedding room is currently still open, but access to the castle grounds and park has already been restricted.

In addition to the hotel and event business, the castle is a popular photo motif for travelers and is known in the region for its Christmas markets.

There is as yet no confirmed information about whether the historic house should actually be sold. However, the owner family has already separated from other country estates in their possession in the past.

Schloss Tremsbüttel is a representative and elaborately designed country house from the period of historicism with elements of Art Nouveau, Neo-Gothic and Neo-Renaissance. It was built for the Hasenclever family by architect Hans Grisebach in the late 19th century. The castle has been owned by a Hamburg family of entrepreneurs since 1996 and has been operated as an exclusive hotel since then. Numerous personalities such as Sophia Loren, Klaus Kinski and Curd Jürgens have already been guests there.
