The conversion of old houses into a bed and breakfast hotel is a successful use concept in many European countries. A B&B use is well suited if you as the owner want to occupy the house yourself and rent out some rooms. Most hotels usually have at least 4 rooms, but there can be ten or more rooms.

As can be deduced from the abbreviation, you as the operator also offer breakfast. The classification is based on a star system, with rooms between 3 and 5 stars having a higher standard of equipment.

B&B hotels have become very popular in recent years and there are now numerous hostels that are very similar to a boutique hotel. Luxury attributes such as a heated pool are also more common, depending on the type of property.
