The area around Nogallen belonged in the diocese of Courland to the episcopal office of Erwahlen. The feudal lord was the last bishop Duke Magnus. As a manor Nogallen appears at the beginning of the 17th century in the possession of the Pilten land council Friedrich v. Brunnow. The family remained in possession of the estate for about 100 years until Niklas Georg v. Brunnow sold it to Magnus Georg v. Fircks around 1710. The Barons v. Fircks owned Nogallen for almost 200 years. The widow of Baron Ernst v. Fircks, Marie, née Baronesse Behr, sold the estate to Otto v. Transehe and he finally sold it in 1910 to Baroness Marie v. Nolcken, who was dispossessed in 1920.
The manor house was built according to designs of the architect Theodor Seiler in neoclassical style, in the middle of a beautiful landscape. Because of the forest and game-rich area, it was also called the hunting lodge of Baron v. Fircks, and because of the exceedingly splendid furnishings, it was also called the "Rundale Kurlands".
The two-story, 12-axis house stands on a high plinth and has an imposing Ionic portico on the park side. Also facing the park is a small pavilion addition. The courtyard side has a pilaster-decorated 3-axis portal and appears somewhat irregular due to the separate single-axis facade set in front of the left side.
The interior of the house is still remarkable today, probably because of the first restoration carried out already in the 80s. Neo-Baroque wall and ceiling paintings alternate with majolica ceramics on the walls and ornately decorated fireplaces and majestic ovens.
From the garden terrace you have a spectacular view of the lake, which is over 2 hectares in size and over 20 meters deep. In the park of about 3 hectares, the centuries-old oaks are particularly noteworthy.
