The Wittig Mansion in Köthen

Many historic villas in the new German states have not survived 30 years of vacancy and decay: The Wittig Villa of coffee manufacturer Louis Wittig, with its richly decorated facade, has survived this long period to this day - without fire and without demolition (as monument protection is no guarantee for a demolition protection).

A company from Rhineland-Palatinate that specializes in monument restoration acquired the property in 2022. The villa, outbuildings and park are to be fully developed - another #lostportico was prevented!
