The château has been carefully and tastefully restored by its owners, emerging as a distinguished family residence. Particular attention was paid to contemporary energy standards: the latest technology and modern geothermal heat pumps ensure efficient and economical operation. Remarkably, overall running costs for heating, electricity and water are comparable to those of a standard family home in Prague, making this property exceptional on the Czech market for a château of more than 1,000 m².

The restoration, undertaken between 2016 and 2023, focused on retaining the Renaissance character while creating a comfortable and practical home. Although the château is not a listed building, every effort was made to preserve its historic fabric and original details.

The grounds are largely enclosed by a substantial stone wall. Entry to the landscaped courtyard is via a tall automatic gate. The formal garden features flowering shrubs and perennials, complemented by fountains, ponds and Italian-style outdoor furniture. Adjacent to the former barn lies a ceramic swimming pool, while the property extends into a small park surrounding a 400 m² pond, lined with mature trees, a jetty and a fireplace with seating and barbecue facilities.

Inside the main building, a glazed entrance lobby opens through a historicist security door into the main hall, from which a staircase descends to the vaulted Gothic cellar. To the left is the oldest part of the château, the Gothic hall with fireplace; on the right lies a spacious kitchen with a striking granite island. Adjoining the kitchen are a library with a built-in safe and a large laundry room. Floors are laid with historic tiles and benefit from underfloor heating. A Renaissance staircase leads to the first floor, where a grand central hall connects two residential wings. Each wing houses bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, fitted with underfloor heating, showers, baths and high-quality Villeroy & Boch fittings. The master suite includes two walk-in dressing rooms, and throughout the upper floors, original historic timber has been retained. From the hall, a staircase rises to the attic, a 125 m² open space beneath a six-metre-high Baroque roof structure. Fully insulated, heated and air-conditioned, it offers a versatile space suitable as a studio, office, playroom or private retreat.

Across the courtyard, the former carriage house has been adapted into a garage for four vehicles. Opposite stands the château barn, converted to provide two boutique guest suites with private bathrooms, alongside additional facilities for visitors. The barn also serves as an entertainment centre, fitted with a professional bar, pizza oven and grill, as well as a stage, sound and lighting system and large-screen projection. It can accommodate up to sixty guests.

The property’s origins date back to the mid-thirteenth century, when a Gothic manor belonging to the lower nobility connected with the Rosenberg family occupied the site. In the early sixteenth century, it was remodelled as a Renaissance château, later transformed into a Baroque rectory in the eighteenth century. During the socialist era, the estate was used by state institutions and an agricultural cooperative. Following decades of neglect and alterations, it was removed from the register of listed buildings in the 1950s. The current owners have meticulously restored the property, honouring its history while adapting it for twenty-first century living.
