Historic properties for sale: Lesser Poland

The “Greek House” is a defining historical landmark located just off the market square in Myślenice, south of Kraków. Built in the late 17th century, the property first served as an inn for Armenian merchants, locally referred to as “Greeks,” which gave the building its name. In 1818, an additional upper floor was added, giving the house its present symmetrical form.

This plastered brick building, designed on a rectangular plan, exemplifies strict neoclassical forms. The front façade is dominated by a portico with four Doric columns supporting a triangular pediment. The building is not basemented but features a usable attic. The rear façade is adorned with an arcade supported by eight columns.

Inspired by the castles of Scotland, the palace in Zagórzany was considered one of the most representative residences and is an outstanding example of Neo-Gothic architecture in Lesser Poland. The four-winged complex with a courtyard was built in the first half of the 19th century for Poland's then Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Count Alexander Skrzyński.

Estate of the Szembek Family in Lesser Poland: Most of the buildings in the country estate and park complex in Poręba Żegoty are currently in a ruined state. This prominent noble family produced numerous influential personalities in Poland.
