Historic Monument with Residential and Commercial Use in One of Pomerania’s Prime Tourist Centres
“Brama Garncarska”, a five-storey brick tower dating from the 14th century, is located in the Old Town of Malbork. As part of the defensive system of the medieval UNESCO-listed castle complex, it is one of the city’s most notable landmarks, situated just a few metres south of the main castle. Since 1962, the gate has been registered as a cultural monument.
The building, with a rectangular footprint, has a total area of approximately 226 m², distributed as follows:
- Ground floor: approx. 37 m² (including mezzanine)
- 1st floor: 33.75 m²
- 2nd floor: 37.33 m²
- 3rd floor: 42.53 m²
- 4th floor: 37.08 m²
- 5th floor: 38.44 m²
The medieval city gate is in excellent structural condition, with all levels preserved in their original, well-maintained state. The electrical system has been fully modernised, and water, sewage, and district heating are all connected.
Currently, the ground floor accommodates commercial premises, including a modern art gallery. The total plot area is 96 m². Wall thicknesses range from 60 cm on the top floor to 1.65 m on the ground floor.
The outstanding tourist location, at one of the most interesting and historically significant sites in Pomerania, further enhances the appeal of this heritage property.
