Palace in Kock, Lublin

Pałac w Kocku, Kock

Kock is a small town north of Lublin in the voivodeship of the same name. In the town there is the so-called "Anna Jablonowska Palace", a classicist ensemble with a large landscape park. Anna Jabłonowska was descended from the Sapieha family, a large magnate family with Russian roots in what was then Poland-Lithuania. In 1750, she commissioned the renowned architect Henryk Marconi with the classicist reconstruction of the old castle.

The castle has an Ionic portico on the courtyard side. The two annexes arranged parallel to the chateau were built at the beginning of the 19th century and are connected to the main building by quarter-circle colonnades. From the large garden terrace there is a beautiful view of the castle pond and landscape park.

The classicist interior architecture has been largely preserved. Worth mentioning is the double-flight staircase, decorated with Doric columns on the ground and upper floors.

In recent years, the building housed a social institution, occasional guided tours are possible.
