Old Mansion near Warsaw

Old villa Zosinek in Milanówek.

In this small Polish town, wealthy citizens from Warsaw had numerous villas and luxurious summer houses built around the turn of the century. Most of these buildings were designed by famous pre-war architects. In addition to traditional historicist styles, the houses also display typical Polish villa architecture of the early 20th century; common features included multi-story verandas, some of which are wooden, as seen here.

The Zosinek villa on the street ul. Piłsudskiego 12 dates from 1912 and was built for Maria Eubig-Gasińska and taken over by Warsaw lawyer Władysław Żeromski in 1925. On the property there used to be also a steward's house, a coachman's house and a stable. After World War II, the estate was nationalized and served for residential and cultural purposes.

The villa has been part of the city's "listed urban space" since 1988, but has remained unused to this day and is in great need of renovation.
