Classical Riverside Villa with Guest House in Bonn-Mehlem
Originally built in 1840 in Königswinter in the late classical style, this villa was relocated to the opposite bank of the Rhine in 1937/38 – a rare historic event in the Middle Rhine region. The entire building was dismantled and reconstructed true to the original at its current site in Bonn-Mehlem.
Layout
The ground floor features a spacious living room with fireplace, a dining room, a versatile additional room, kitchen with adjoining utility room and a guest WC.
On the first floor, there are four rooms – including three offices – a bathroom, a dressing room and a second utility room.
The second floor offers four further rooms, two of which open onto a balcony, plus a dressing room and another bathroom.
Guest House and Amenities
A separate guest house on the property provides two floors of living space, including a kitchen, bathroom, living and sleeping areas. Both buildings are fully basemented.
The main house was modernised in the 1990s (windows, electrics, plumbing). In 2015 and 2019, the pipes and hot water system were renewed. Heating is provided by a modern gas central heating system with heat storage, supported by an open fireplace.
Location
Set in a quiet location along the Mehlemer Rhine promenade, the property enjoys excellent infrastructure. Kindergarten and schools are within walking distance, as are shopping facilities and medical services. Public transport (bus and tram) as well as the motorway access are nearby. Cologne/Bonn Airport is approximately 30 km away.
