The Palazzo: A Historical Gem in the Heart of the Apennines
Constructed in the early 16th century by Princess Isabella of Capua, the Palazzo served as the residence for the feudal lords of the County of Campobasso. It welcomed notable families such as the Gonzagas of Guastalla and the Carafa della Stadera, and played host to royal families including the Bonapartes and Ferdinand II of Bourbon. In 1783, the building underwent renovations and was sold to the Cannavina family at the end of the 19th century.
A meticulous restoration has achieved the perfect balance between the old and the new, fully adhering to the guidelines set forth by the Italian Heritage and Landscape Protection Authority.
Today, the Palazzo operates as a distinctive boutique hotel, showcasing high-quality materials and furnishings. The interiors are lavishly decorated, providing guests with a truly artistic atmosphere where they can admire historical wooden beam ceilings, frescoes, and stone columns.
The hotel features six en-suite suites and various communal areas, as well as a private apartment named "Acquavite," which consists of a kitchen/living room, a bedroom, and a bathroom, directly connected to the wellness area. The wellness area boasts an impressive private spa set within an ancient stone-carved vault, as well as an infrared sauna and a heated relaxation pool equipped with 30 hydrojets and chromotherapy.
A grand salon is particularly suited for business meetings and prestigious events, while a panoramic terrace overlooking the city invites relaxation.
