Hastenbeck Palace in Germany

Hastenbeck Castle is a neo-Gothic manor house in the Hameln-Pyrmont district of Lower Saxony. The building from 1862 shows rich facade decoration and representative interiors.

It is known as the filming location for the Edgar Wallace film The Uncanny Monk, which also features interiors of the mansion. The staircase with its dominant rose window has been preserved unchanged to this day, just as it appears in the 1960s film.

Hastenbeck Castle is a private residential building and not open to the public.
