Castle "Schloss Glopper" stands above Hohenems, at an altitude of around 700 metres, with views over the Rhine Valley to Lake Constance and the Swiss Alps. The property is a listed heritage building.
Its origins date back to 1343. A comprehensive restoration took place in 2016. Natural stone walls, oak beams and mediaeval vaulting have been preserved, complemented by contemporary technical fittings.
Living spaces
The living space totals around 489 m² across several levels, including two suites, living areas, the Grand Salon, a fully equipped kitchen, several bathrooms and further rooms suitable for guest, staff or work use.
Outdoor areas
The outdoor areas cover around 1,219 m², including several terraces, garden areas and historic courtyards with views of the surrounding mountains. The old town of Hohenems and everyday amenities are a few minutes away by car. Switzerland, Germany and Liechtenstein are nearby, as are Altenrhein and Friedrichshafen airports.
Development potential
The vaulted cellars offer space for a wine cellar, wellness area or event space. The historic tower could be converted into further suites, a library or private rooms. Additional rooms, a hall, further roof and terrace areas, and the reconstruction of the historic gatehouse offer further development potential. An external lift to access the upper floors is considered feasible in principle.
Suitable as a residence, second home, or for events.
