Location and Region

Main noble townhouse from the early 18th century, listed as a cultural heritage site in Castilla-La Mancha, Cuenca Province. Castilla-La Mancha represents the historical heart of Spain – a plateau ranging from 600 to 1,000 metres above sea level, defined by wide-open landscapes, fortified towns and architecture combining Moorish, Gothic and Renaissance influences. Its stark, sun-drenched plains have inspired literature and painting, and still contrast with Spain’s densely populated coastal regions.

The city of Cuenca, whose historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is approximately 56 km from the property. The old town, built on a rocky promontory between two gorges and renowned for its casas colgadas – the houses hanging over the cliffs – is one of Spain’s most remarkable urban ensembles. Cuenca combines medieval buildings with prominent museums, including the Museum of Abstract Art, housed in one of the historic hanging houses. The city is the cultural and administrative centre of the province.

The townhouse is situated close to other historic monuments and traditional Castilian villages, whose centres often still feature defensive walls, Romanesque churches and stately houses. This rural setting has retained its authenticity – free from tourism-driven changes but supported by functioning local infrastructure.

Accessibility

The nearest railway station, with high-speed AVE connections, is 10 km away. The AVE reduces travel time to Madrid to under an hour and links the region to Spain’s national high-speed network. Hourly bus services to Madrid (97 km) and Cuenca also provide flexible daily mobility without a car.
