This historic palace complex in Moja Wola was built between 1854 and 1855 as one of the hunting and summer residences of Duke Wilhelm August of Brunswick-Oels. Its architecture reflects the Scottish Baronial style. It is the only known heritage building in Europe with a façade clad in oak bark.
Until 1918, the estate was located in Prussia; since then, it has been part of Poland. After 1945, it was managed by the Polish authorities and used as a forestry training centre until 1990.
Thanks to its distinctive character and location, the palace and park grounds in Moja Wola hold significant potential for tourism-related development. Situated in the scenic Barycz Valley Landscape Park and surrounded by vast forests and fishponds, the site already attracts numerous visitors – especially cyclists and motorbike tourists, for whom it is a popular stopover.
