Warsaw's beautiful corners: Chocimska 24

In downtown Warsaw, on the street ul. Chocimska 24 - west of the southern end of Łazienki Park - there is a complex of buildings with a representative facade on the street side: the National Institute of Hygiene (Narodowy Instytut Zdrowia Publicznego - Państwowy Zakład Higieny) conducts, among other things, scientific research on epidemiology and bacteriology.

The first state hygiene school in Europe was located here. The building was constructed in the early 1920s by Czesław Przybylski. The Warsaw architect was a representative of eclecticism and modernism and was involved in several monumental buildings in Warsaw.

The ensemble has been a cultural monument in Warsaw since 1988.
