Prime historic estates for sale: Bavaria

Architecturally, a medieval castle was defined by three core characteristics: defensive invulnerability, self-sufficient provisioning during a siege, and generously proportioned residential quarters. The property is situated in Upper Franconia, centrally positioned between Coburg, Bayreuth, and Bamberg, in close proximity to several UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Mainberg Castle is situated above the village of Mainberg within the municipality of Schonungen, in the Schweinfurt district. Surrounded by woodland and a vineyard, the property overlooks the River Main and is located approximately 3 km from the Schweinfurt city boundary. The location is served by the city bus network, and the nearest motorway junction is approximately a 10-minute drive away.

Due to advancing age, I am offering for sale by private treaty my fully renovated castle east of Munich, near Altötting and Marktl. At the price of a modest single-family home in and around Munich, this historic castle provides far greater space, quality, and individuality.

In a prime location, just a few steps from Lake Tegernsee, we are offering for sale a historic hotel in Bavarian style, dating back to the early modern period. The property is situated on a large plot and offers a variety of potential uses.
